RB3D has been supported by a regional incubator called PREMICE. Then the company kept growing to reach the status of “Jeune Entreprise Innovante” (literally “Innovative Young Company “) and was discerned various awards for its patents and developments in the mechatronics field.
In 2003, the design and manufacturing of a successfull assisting tool for physiotherapists,called DEDOLOR, lead the RB3D activity to expand. From this date, the staff has regularly grown. Then, going further in the development of assisting solutions, the company started to work on crimping tools specifically designed to get rid of the MSDs in the aeronautics field.
In 2008, the company focused widely on ergonomics and MSDs risks reduction. The first audits led to the apparent need of a collaborative robot providing the user with strength: the Cobot concept was born. Consequently, its study was launched and the company purchased assembling and controlling tools for its manufacturing. The first Cobot was delivered in 2011.
At the same time, RB3D took the initiative of an exoskeleton development by proposing the HERCULE project. This first military demonstrator was successfully presented in 2011.
Nowadays, RB3D employs 17 people amongst 13 engineers and 4 technicians and aims to become a significant Cobots and exoskeletons supplier for the industry in the forthcoming years.
